Student Expectations:
Respect one another. No teasing, name calling, physical attacks or being unkind to another student. These behaviors will not be tolerated.
Listen to your teacher and the other parents. There is to be no talking while a teacher is instructing. Disruption of class will be cause for the student's removal. Repeated incidents will be brought to the attention of the M.A.D. director. This is a class environment and should be conducted as such.
Do as your teacher or parent asks. If you have a problem with something, you can see your teacher after class or address it with your parent and teacher at an appropriate time.
Homework: If your class requires additional work at home it must be completed as requested by the teacher to remain in the class. This may include but is not limited to reading, writing, script memorization, etc. A semester progress report will be provided covering your participation in class.
Follow the rules: We are blessed to have a facility to meet in and will do as asked in order to continue our relationship with the church and have a place to meet. No drinks or snacks in the classrooms. No running or yelling in the hallways, no gum or food outside the designated snack area.
Electronic devices on your person or carried in your purse must be silenced and used for the sole purpose of time management. This includes but is not limited to MP3 players, cell phones or Blackberries. Verifying incoming calls, reading or sending text messages between
1:20-4:30 will be cause for your cell phone to be collected by the teacher or parent. If there are multiple violations you will be requested to leave your phone with your parent.
Youth will not engage in any sort of public display of affection (pairing off, hand holding,
or any romantic type behavior).
Dress Guidelines:
Members should dress appropriately, neatly and modestly. In the interest of group harmony, we ask that each individual consider carefully the wearing of any slogans, sayings,
or ideas that might be deemed objectionable or offensive to other members.
Shorts should be mid-thigh in length - rule of thumb to go by- if your shorts do not touch your finger tips when your hands are laid against your leg, they are too short.
No spaghetti straps. Shoulder straps should be at least three fingers wide. Shirts should be
long enough to cover the midriff both front and back, even when your hands are raised.
No undergarment exposure - be it underwear above the waist of your pants or bras seen through shirts.
No pajama items - this means shirts or pajama pants worn as daily wear.
All P.E. participants will wear appropriate attire for athletic activity. No sandals, flip flops, or shoes with an open toe. Tennis shoes should be worn as students will be running and playing a variety of sports.
Consequences for noncompliance- all students:
If the M.A.D. director determines that a violation of guidelines has occurred the parent will be notified and recommendations to remedy the issue discussed. The board will be notified of the situation and the outcome.
Any excessive or vicious attack, verbal or physical, will result in additional consequences as determined by the board. Consequences may include restricting student participation.
Failure to comply with these guidelines can and may result in the family being asked to leave M.A.D. Monday without a refund of fees.
